Greetings all,
Last year I travelled to Normandy for the first time and had the pleasure of meeting many of the local residents there who share my interest in the battle of Normandy.
One subject that came up was the death of Maj. General Falley. While there are different versions of events surrounding the actual action, my friends in Normandy were more interested in the identities of the two individuals accompanying the General when his vehicle was ambushed.
An account from Capt. Malcolm Brannen of the 508th PIR published in "Les Diables Rouges" by Dominique Francois mentions a Major, who was killed in the initial attack, as well as a corporal, who was taken prisoner.
If someone can provide the identities of these individuals, it will make a lot of enthusiasts in Normandy very happy!
Thanks
