Sad News. I wrote Karl-Heinz Wiebe years ago and requested a signed photo. He wrote me a nice letter back saying he didn't send photos because he was not a hero, all the true heros had died during the war.

I always had a special respect for him.

Update for all you fellow Forum readers.

I have just returned home today from a short visit to Kurt Sametreiter. He is well and in good health for his age. He had a good birthday recently, celebrated with his family. He has recently suffered the sad loss of his wife of 67 years marriage.

I visited him to present him with the photo book I have just completed on his military career in WWII, done with his help and input - he is the dual Author!

I will be posting details of this book in the next 2 weeks or so, have to travel to Germany first, but will sort upon my return - think some of you will find the book of huge interest!.

                    Regards for now.

Could someone maybe tell me how Mr.Soren Kam got his Knights Cross?
There is very little information to find about him except for his war crime(s)...

                          Kind regards,
