Well that's one beautiful collection of RKT autographs. makes me pretty jealous, that's huge compared to my 2 pictures of Otto Carius

Everyone starts somewhere !!!!! Most of us will never achieve the collections some of our fellow members have, but with a little hard work it is possible to obtain a nice collection.

Remember, it is not quantity, but quality. Always remember that with each photo you create a link with history. Learn the story of how each one came to receive their RK, and honor their gift to you.

you're right with that quality, not quantity. But i don't ask specificaly for a signed photograph when i write my first letter. like now, i've posted my letter to Artur Becker-Neetz last friday; i didn't ask for a photograph. which is quite normal i think, in the first letter i always tell why i'm writing and why i'm so interested in the war and the RKTs. i'll probably ask for one after i've received a reply, or i'll send him a copy of an unsigned picture .

I don't think that it is wrong to ask them to sign a photo for you in the first letter. Truthfully, I think it might be a good thing as we honestly do not know how long they will be with us. This was a lesson I learned the hard way, and I am sure other members can also verify.

Artur is a very nice man and I hope you hear back from him soon. I know that he has moved recently to Berlin. So perhaps it takes some time.

I wish you much luck in your collecting.

For Huntzman, some corrections on the list:

                -Rolf Hermichen is listed twice
-Walter Gerhold (RK Kriegsmarine) is missing

                    -Erich Schlemminger (101 years?)
                    -Wilhelm Walther (100 years?)

Yeah, I got a reply from his daughter some weeks ago, saying the same thing.

If this is Friedrich Buck of Florian Geyer he was alive in around 2003/04 as I wrote around that time and get a reply from him.

Friedrich Buck is still alive to my knowledge, however he refuses to answer any
                                requests of any sort.
