Thanks for reply, Herr Sasso. Sorry I din't reply earlier...then again, yea, oh well!

I heard about Herr Sepp and Frau von Ribbentrop...it's too heartbreaking. Herr Sepp was one of of shooting inspirations.

              God bless 'em both!

By the way, a little question, is it correct that Artur Becker-Neetz lives in Berlin?

Yes, he moved away from Frankfurt.

Sorry to bother again, but does anyone know of any former Waffen-SS recipients who'll respond/recieve letters?

                        Thanks!

I recently got acquainted with Oberst Kuno von Meyer's daughter.

Here's one of his last photos:

I just began reading "Sniper on the Eastern Front. The Memoirs of Sepp Allerberger" by Albrecht Wacker. Very interesting story about a very interesting man. The author, however, states in the introduction that "While Russian and Allied marksmen are honored as heros, German marksmen - even in their own country - are considered as wicked killers. Because of this, it has proved necessary to protect the subject of this study by keeping his identity anonymous. ... The subject of this book will be called 'Sepp Allerberger'". Not a great job of disguising his identity or not a particularly honest statement.

I don't fully get this up to this day...

I know that Sepp used a pseudonym in the first editions (maybe German editions?) and later it was changed to "Sepp Allerberger". Maybe that's all a translation misinterpretation.

Also... "Sepp" is short for "Joseph". So, there's also the possibility that Wacker meant just this.

The comment about a fictious name for Sepp Allerberger is made in the prologue of 2009 edition published in the UK. If he used a pseudonym in the earlier German editions the comment in the prologue must not have been changed in the latedr ones. Thanks for the information.
