By the way, i visited him on Monday. He isn´t in the very best health. But he said he will be in a better health soon. He is still working in his pharmacy.

Eichenlaubträger Wolfgang Schenck died this morning in his nursing home just four weeks after his 97th birthday.

indeed very sad news about Wolfgang Schenck; may he rest in peace.

yesterdeay, i received a reply from Otto Carius;
in my letter that i wrote to him i told him that i was very interested in the war, and that it's very important to make sure that it and the stories of people are never forgotten, i also asked him how he won his RK and oakleaves. his reply was a copy of an old WW2 article and ofcourse an autographed picture

but there is one thing near the end that i can't read.
