Heartily sad. My friend talked with him in 24.09. He is in good condition till quite recently.

I can't believe it until now.

Very sad indeed. I met him several times, and he was a very nice man. Tom

I've been in contact with Trummer, Kleffel and Barths recently.

As someone said before Trummer does not respond to letters by himself anymore. He did sign the two photos I attached in the letter, but the written card sent together with them was written by his son.

(According to his son,) Mr. Trummer lose his eyesight as I remember.
But as you received his sign, he didn't stop signing. Mr. Barths too.

But as I know Mr. Kleffel has stopped answering, but looks it's wrong.

I was doing some research on Knight's Cross Recipients and was wondering how many are still alive today.

This list is now based upon numerous contributions by several members. Any corrections / updates / revisions are greatly appreciated.

Note: I will monitor the entries & try to keep this first post updated as revisions are posted.

                    Peter Spoden

                    Peter Spoden is still alive.

I went to see him 2 weeks ago. Still with good memory, surprisingly, even at his 96 years old.

He is not a KC recipient, that's why he is not in the list.

I was honored to meet Eberhard after the funeral of guenter halm a few months ago.

I took my last picture from Eberhard at his home.

                                RIP Kamerad.
