Hello Gentlemen,

Who has some experience with searching the NARA files.I have done a search on their site,but can't find exactly which roll to order.Is there a sort of index online ?I'm searching for files containing the ''Germanische Leitstelle''
Does somebody know on which roll numbers that information is ?

The NARA WashDC on-line listings will not tell you which roll numbers you need. There are about 96 guides to the RG 242 collection, the first 75 or so of which are printed and on 35 mm microfilm and the remaining 20 are on microfiche. Many of the guides are 280-300 pages in length, so there is no way that they will ever be scanned and put on-line, at least in my lifetime.

What you will need to do is e-mail NARA and tell them exactly what you want, described as completely as you can. They will then search and determine what rolls you will need from which Microcopy and then reply to you. Be sure and ask them for the cost, too.

The Germanische Leitstelle sound like something in:

Nazi Party and SS Records: T-81, T-82, T-175 and T-354;
Berlin Documents Center Records: T-580 and T-611.

But that is just a guess.
