Finding a WW2 german map of my city.

    Hey guys.
I would like to get a german map, or a photocopy of a German map, with the smallest (or biggest?? I mean a precise map) scale possible of my town, Villeneuve-Loubet, on the coast of southern France a few km west of Nice.
Does anyone have this map, or does anyone know a crazzy map collector who may have it?

    Thanks
    JL

    Salut Jean-Loup

Here's an idea that may be worth looking into. If you know what divisions and korps controlled your town during the war there's a very good chance maps exists within their respective archives. Getting copies from the bundesarchiv can be difficult unless you go there yourself but NARA in the US sells microfilm roll copies. This is what i do for Norwegian korps and divisions and there's always maps.

Another avenue of approach may be through French military archives. i've no idea if it would be similar to Norway but here a large amount of German documents and maps were kept by the Norwegian military for a long time after the war...even as late as this last week a friend of mine was handed 4 boxes of mostly German documents including some very detailed maps of the area we live in.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Thanks for the ideas, but having already worked with NARA and all that, this would be a bit of a long term project. I will try that if I find nothing else thow...
For now I would just be happy with a normal map of the area. I saw one for sale once but was stupi enaugh not to buy it. I am sure a memeber of this forum must have a similar one, the difficulty would be finding that person...

The best I found in my library, don't know if it serves your purpose.

Thanks a lot Akira for taking time to scan this. This map is quite good, but idealy, I would like one that is more precise, one of the types where each individual farm is indicated. I know it may not be easy to find...
Can I contact you in the future if I need a view of a different section of the map shown?

          Thanks a lot again

I knew that... Would have been better if Stadtdurchfahrtspläne book (an example page shown below) contained Villeneuve-Loubet!
