Hi Ed, I did a quick search on the 'net using the words "275.Infanterie-Division". A lot of pages came up. I take it you have already tried this? Here is a link I always recommend to people as a good place to start any research:

    Cheers, Ade.

I tried the seachengines already, but it`s not the good information. They fought also in Aachen. But a lot of information is about France and Germany. They got re-suplied in Holland. My hometown is called: Valkenburg. I think at least 10 germans died here. Thank you Ade for your information. Keep more coming please.

            Hello Ed,

Sorry for the delay. I've been out of town for a few days. I know I won't be able to help you on the names of the German soldiers that were killed in and around your town.

Found a lot of information about the division in Normandy but very little about it in Holland. One thing that may make information scarce is that it was an extremely unlucky unit in Normandy. It was one of the main receipiants of the B-17 & B-24 Saturation Bombing prior to Patton's Cobra offensive. It then of course was rolled over in the actual offensive. What was left of the division that was not destroyed in Cobra was further mauled trying to get out of the Falaise Pocket. Then of course came the retreat accross France, Belgium & Holland. All of this probably means very few of the units records survived, much less very many of it's men to tell the story. Some pieces of information pick back up when the division was reconstituted in October of 44. It's strength is noted as 5,000 men on October 3rd and that is after it was rebuilt. Sorry I could not find you much of anything. Good luck.

Thank you for trying. I got a appointment thursday with a organisation that collects history stuff about Valkenburg. Hope to find more there.

                Ed, first In Englisch:

When it's German and died in Holland during the war, it was burried in Holland(at least for some time) on a graveyard and therefor written in the graveyard's register. After the war almost all German bodies were moved to IJsselstein cementary. So the info you need can be found at IJsselstein or at your local "gemeentehuis".

                Vriend,

                Cheers,
