I am researching a small 1 inch square pin-back enamel badge. It has the Danish flag (enamelled) and at each end of the flag staff there are oakleaves (the one at the bottom has an acorn). The reverse is silver marked "925".
I am told it is something to do with the Danish Freikorps - part of the Waffen SS. Also someone has suggested that these badges were handed out when the Danish contingent was disbanded (May 1943) to be set up as a new Waffen SS formation - Pz.Grndr.Regts. Someone remembers seeing this badge mentioned in the SS Veterans magazine from the 1970's "The Freiwilligen".
Any ideas my fellow collectors?
