    Para Badge?

    Hi All,

What do you think of this Para badge?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

Sorry, but not for me. It does not have the typical characteristics (eagle, wreath, MM, hinge/catch, absence of fire-gilding on the eagle) of a standard Juncker LW Para Badge. Then again, I've only been collecting for about 20 years and reading some recent theads here, there seem to be some collectors who have been at it a lot longer that would probably be happy to have it in their collections.

    Regards
    Mike K

PS: This would do better in the Badges and or Para Forums.

PPS: A moderator is quite welcome to remove the last "snarky" sentence as it has ZAV.
    Regards
    Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

      Bill,

I am afraid Mike is correct, this doesn't have the traits of an original C.E. Juncker in my eyes either. Without going into details again, suggest you search the forum for past threads and lots of good reading material IMO. I will post some detailed shots of a good one to compare your badge against.

Oh, one more as Mike called out the fire gilding, though for some reason Juncker para badges seem to lose theirs faster.

Bill, I think you can see the differences pretty plain here from what a typical badge looks like. Hope it helps answer your questions.

(did it come from a hotel?)

Agree wholeheartly with everything that Mike says, including the sarky remarks

Tim shows a very nice example of what it should look like.

As already stated, the case is also bad.
