Hi guys,
IMO this is not a Hammer & Sohn. It is the type that looks very similar, but definitely not a "textbook" Hammer & Sohn. The badge that started this thread is the questionable type that is frequently confused with the Hammer & Sohn. I am still not certain of this type, but many have called it a fake in past discussions. Please see my postings in the linked thread, beginning with post #7.

The badge in question (top) has a sheet metal hinge with a wider base flange that covers the cut-out area above the eagle. The single rivet has a nicely-domed head.
The Hammer & Sohn (bottom) also has a sheet metal hinge, but with a narrower flange that leaves the cut-out area above the eagle visible. The single rivet is more flattened rather than domed.Mihi libertas necessest!Comment

I agree with Tom Y. This one is very late (modern) dangerous fake. This type of fake badges pops up all over the world. Here is the example from one of Russian forums.
