FLL Pilot/Observer with Barrel hinge for review

    Hi all

Due to a quirk of fate I now have two of these FLL Pilot/Observer Badges with barrel hinges and need to let this one go. As the price tag on any nice, buntmetall PO Badge is pretty high, I would appreciate your review here to provide confidence to any future buyer.

For me, it is a textbook example in near mint condition.

    Thanks and best wishes
    Tim O.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

What is the reasonable fair market value for a PO by FLL, in this condition?

Nobody has an opinion on the value of this excellent PO?

This type is not seen very often so there is not a ready market to quote. The 'standard' block-hinge FLL can be found on dealer websites ranging from 1650 to 2300 Euros. A barrel-hinge has to be worth more as it is a much less common type. North of 2000 Euros is certain but still much cheaper than GWL or Juncker PO Badges. The detail is arguably better than either of these competitors so many of us here feel FLL POs are under-valued (or the others are over-valued!). Up to 2500 Euros does not seem unreasonable as a full market price.

Just to reassure the moderators, this badge is not for sale here and will not be on the e-stand so the quoted values are purely hypothetical.

                        Best wishes

I don't usually talk this but I paid 6,000 for an absolutely, and I mean absolutely, mint cased example a few years ago. It was at the SOS and it was literally glistening in the showcase. The fact it was a barrel hinge and I couldn't resist. Under a bright light the wreath is like a multi faceted diamond reflecting. A picture doesn't do it justice you would have to see it in a movie for a few seconds.

Notice case inside top is padded cloth, not the usual paper top you see on FLL later cases.

                              Since this isn't a "sales" thread I don't feel I'm co-opting your thread.
