I'm with Frank and his thoughts about this one Mic - the solder looks like it's been there from the get go to me as well.

I'm a novice on these, so I am in no way insinuating anything. My comments are only my own novice observations and it is a great way to learn. I recently purchased a Brehmer after Frank gave it his opinion.
Maybe Frank could tell us if this type of soldering was common, it is the first badge I have seen like this? Was it made by the apprentice or maybe on a Friday arvo?
Either way I love all Flak badges

I would agree with Frank that this is a typical Assmann flak and for me 100% ok.

However, this is a very interesting badge.
We have seen bodged soldering Jobs from Assmann before, they were not alone FLL, BSW and not to mention RS did some very sloppy work.
But, and a big but this is. What was going on when they made this badge. The solder looks factory original. Was this some trainee learning how to solder and not being properly supervised?
Did the quality guy have a hard night and was asleep when this one slid past him?
I have never seen, on any badge, such a large amount of solder that has dripped over onto the back. The hook is also not a lot better.

Strange badge and it can only leave you wondering what was happening when this one was made.

I think generally a lot less attention was given to the reverse side, something which was never to be exposed during wear. Only for collectors this is the important side, back then it was just a badge and just the reverse. If you have a nice car, are you really worried about the looks of the inside of your trunk lid?
          Cheers, Frank
