    Flak badge opinions needed

    Hi

    this is my first purchase by myself and i would appreciate your opinions as i have this badge on approval and it can be returned should it prove to be rubbish. It cost £65.00. It is not that clear from the pictures, but there is some sort of white staining or residue around the eagle and on the bottom of the badge. Can this be treated? I look forward to receiving your opinions and keep my fingures crossed that my first purchase is OK.

        this is another badge but this is from the collection i inherited. Believed to be a fake but need your confirmation before submitting to the rubbish pile.

            Hello Andy,

            The Luftwaffe Flak Badge looks to be a good, late-war badge by Juncker.
            The Heer Flak Badge is as you thought, a crude, cast fake.

                After checking over all the details between a real Flak Badge and one of my friend's fake one he bought as original, I am not sure if I like the one shown.
                Has too many bolts on the flak gun, were as on originals there were a limited number.
                Just my 2-cents.

                  Hi Andy,

                  I agree with Frank and Tom, the Luft flak is a latewar zink, Juncker. The army flak is a pretty bad fake.

                  Karl, you may be looking at an earlier Juncker piece, which didn't have a lot of rivets on the flak gun. Apparently later in the war, Juncker reworked their dies and added more detail to the gun.

                      Andy, it is probably zink rot. Put a little vasoline (petroleum jelly) on it for a day or two and then wipe it off.
