Decent Juncker Pilot badge fake

Hi guys,

A friend sent me pics of this badge and figured I would post it as a warning since it is one of the best fake Juncker Pilot badges I think we have come across in a while. I believe we actually discussed this exact one back in 2010, but couldn't find the thread so figured I would post it again with new updated photos.

Very well made with good detailing to the eagle and wreath. Hardware is also decent, but for anyone that studies original Juncker awards there is still plenty of little red flags to reveal this is nothing more than a decently made fake.

Very convincing fake, the eagle is very close as well as the MM but the wreath and rivets are obvious. Hardware is not bad either, thanks showing Tom

Wow. A very convincing piece no matter how many red flags. These just keep getting better and better which makes one think are we entering a even more sophisticated level of forgeries on these badges?

Well, calling it the best fake ever.... is a bit over the top.
Wreath is totally off, not even close to original Juncker product. Just take a look at the leaves on the right side. Also the strange point on the upper side, where both halfs of the wreath meet eachother is very suspicious. From the backside, wreath looks like it's egg shaped. Very crude (rounded) cutouts in the feathers. Rivets are off. Many signs of casting and pitting on the backside of the bird. Needle seems slightly thicker than those on original Juncker products. Can't comment on MM as it's not visible.
Only decent on this badge is the obverse design of the eagle. That looks very sharp.
I think this is an older fake, i see some vert de gris developing in some areas. Or artificially aged..
