    Opinions on APB and Para Badges

    I have been offered these badges and would like some opinions,I have my opinions but I have would like some others.Thanks for your help.Happy Holidays Jay Parisi

                      Dear Jay,

                      In my opinion the APB is a casting and the para badge is ok (interesting numbers on the wreath and eagle), possibly a late war Juncker.

                          Yes, actually a good percentage of this type has Cupal eagles. As I have stated earlier somewhere else, we have to get away from the thinking that Cupal means neccessarily "early". It was an "Ersatz"-metal (or "Austauschwerkstoff") and was advertised in manufacturer´s magazines as late as winter 1943. It certainly is not a very late war material, but apparently used in late 43 and to be found on later badges such as this one:

                            Think maybe Osang para? pin & catch look like one.I havent looked into the eagle & wreath yet to compare yet.I like it so far.
