Early Assmann ROAGs

I'm not sure which is rarer...in tombac or in aluminium.





I think there are only a handful in collections.

Which one do you think is the harder to find?

Both are very rare but IMO aluminum is much rarer. Beautiful birds Rich.

Nice birds Rich as Seb said alums are a bit harder to find (especially w/o damage), but out there on occasion.

Rich, you are just showing off!! I love them both. AL gets my vote as the rarer of the 2 but both are hard to find birds!

Two beautiful and hard to find early Assmann ROAGs Rich. While I agree that the aluminum version is probably rarer (specially in the same condition as yours with good detail etc) I still prefer the tombac version

2 top pieces,the condition of the alu badge makes the difference, a lot of these are hardly worn or missed their catch

As for the aluminum, I own a mint cased version and I have owned another in same condiotion without case. Never found an early tombak for my collection.....

I like them both, but the alum one has been repaired.

Yes the catch is repaired like most of these aluminium badges that were actually worn. What is nice about this one is the amount of original finish still remaining. Most often they are just the bare aluminium. The detail to these badges is astounding.

I tend to say the aluminum is more rare as well.
