Being a novice to these, why is that? Although the rivets look odd, it seems to match the database example

I prefer classic and textbook badges by Juncker and BSW. This one is very controversial.

Nice original badge! Alex- I'm not aware of any current controversy over this type of badge, an accepted original IMO- these have turned up in vet groups. Not awarded badges probably but still pre May 45

                Hi Terry,

As far as I am concerned, the jury is still out on these. I personally like them and think they could be wartime made. As Patrick says, these have been found in Allied vet groupings, but on the other hand I don't think there have been any found in German vet groupings (only BSW and Juncker to be found up to this point). So I think the tendency is to say these were certainly not award pieces, but they could be replacement pieces or retail-sales late in the war. For me, there is not enough firm evidence of allied vet finds to say for sure these are original wartime-made pieces; so that is why I consider the jury still being out on these but leaning toward late wartime-produced.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

As Tom said.....maybe....but I'm a fan which the bit of analysis/evidence from H Brock's article a couple of years ago.

Looks very beleiveable to me, but I canĀ“t give thumb up or down. There are collectors far more updated on these, than I am.

I'm a believer in these being late war products from an unknown Gablonz maker. They may or may not have been awarded, but so many have been found as vet bringbacks that I'm quite sure they made it into the supply system before the war ended.
