My named ace silver cup+my Halifax escape hatch

    Hello,

Tried to make a few pictures from my Luftwaffe Abschussbecher with Rudolf Sigmund on it (discused here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=silver+cup)

Had the Halifax escape hatch for a while, it came from a crashsite here in Holland and i thought it would display nice with it in a picture !

These items really make me think about those young man who risked there lifes each night in the night airwarfare on both sides. I can only respect there sacrifice and honor those paid the ultimate price.

            Chrisje,

Really nice. Do you have any info on the Halifax?
I wonder if the escape hatch was actually used as an exit.
So many aircrew were unable to get out of an aircrft spinning out of control at night!

Thanks Tim! Unfortunatly no further info of the escape hatch, only that it came from a crash in Holland. So true, many aircrew where unable to bail out in the dead of night. I Always try to add pieces to my collection that tell a story, these 2 really do !

              Chris
