Every dealer sells fakes. Many not intentionally, but they have all sold fakes from time to time. Just know that going in, and realize that its up to you to do your own homework or seek out the guys that specialize in the item you want to purchase. The fakes are just too good in our hobby to be able to take any dealer's word that something is good.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

It would be easier to make a list of 100% trustable dealer with NO argument return policy when something is wrong. My personal list is not very long....

Also depends on who you are and how far from the dealer you live.
Confronting a dealer face to face often makes things much easier!

Technically anyone who sells consistently is a dealer. That includes some of these new "Members" who have a handful of stuff to sell, get opinions, price estimates, sell and then fade away never to be heard from again. eStand rules are for the most part BS to them because they only have a handful of Nazi Hitler stuff and once sold don't really care what you think. These are the most "Questionable". Any of the established ones, whether bad mouthed for fakes now and then or not, can't screw you without ruining their reputation here which is a death sentence to their sales.

So, beware the new people with little to no reputation on this site. I'd sooner buy anything from the biggest a$$ on the forum, someone just like me, then from some wonk who will never be there and honor the eStand rules.

Case in point. The Spain Cross ground dug, the few pieces being shown now including the gold flight clasp. You don't know who these people are. I am betting a hundred euros they are here only to make a buck. Transaction might turn out good but if it doesn't you have only yourself to blame.

Agree 100%. As mentioned all dealers, even the super good guys, make mistakes. So what is MOST important is their taking them back, even after a long period of time. Those who stand up 100% of the time with hassle free returns.
