    A J2 with expression

    Hi guys

Picked this one up for my own collection about week ago. Without a doubt the best eagle out there. I personally love the cut out between the legs, which is very uncommon on these J2's!

Hope you guys like this birdie

    Giel

ps: I used some Tim Cal, Tim O. and Brian ingredients to spicen up the photo

    Hi Giel,

Very nice J2 in excellent shape, just enough wear to give it some great character. The cutout is just icing on the cake, quite uncommon to find as you well know.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hello Giel, these are one of my all time favorites. You are lucky to have found a nice one. I believe these came into existence in 1938.

Love the cut out on your bird. My J2 is good, but not quite that good !

                    Congratulations

I have two of these. The second one I got in the early 70's from a catalog auction for next to nothing (maybe $15) because the pin was replaced (period I think). The replacement pin was steel and came off but came with the bird. Also got a nice 1st pattern S-boat made out of lead that would bend in your fingers. They took back the bad stuff but I have always really liked this badge replaced pin and all. Think it was my first pilot badge. $15 may not sound like much but it was when you were in high school. You could buy a helmet for $10 back then.

Thanks for the 'tip of the hat'.

J2s are the quintessential flgzgfhr badge IMO.
                          Can't beat that facial expression.

Rich, I agree with you on possibly 1938.....do you have any info to back it up....or is it just a theory?

Very nice badge Giel - more reminiscent of a Deumer J2 eagle than a Juncker. Nice photos too
