    Is that from the Canadian guy, I think his name is Paul Hammond or Wammond or something like that. If it is the same person I heard he is a stickler on authentic period pieces. The piece looks good to me but the jury has 11 more votes to needed to decide for sure.

    His name is Peter Whamond. The clasp looks original to me.

      Are you trying to win it at auction or do you want to buy it retail. Watch out for the commission and shipping charge if it's at auction. Good original stuff, but something you think you're paying $300 for turns into $350 when you figure in these things!
