Looking at the pics again (which, by the way ludwig, are terrible...what do you use? A mobile phone camera from the 1990's?) it seems to me that the hangers for the anhanger also show copper, there I conclude that the hangers and hinge and catch have all been applied at the same time.

So my question would be...is this acceptable for a tombac clasp?

For a zinc clasp definitely yes, but tombac? I would have thought the hangers are attached at the request of the recipient, not when the clasp was produced.

Any thoughts on that?

I know, I know – I´m a lousy photographer and my camera isn´t the best. I had a better one, but somehow managed to destroy it. besides all that, it´s seldom very good weather for these excercises. I use daylight only.
