    Juncker, the early Birds

I have been working on, or should I say waiting for, the early C.E. Juncker marked Pilot/ Observer badge to complete this 'grouping'. All five of these badges are the early style 'petite' wreath badges, made by Juncker. These early birds are great. Some of the badges have cutouts between the eagle's legs, and some are solid. Interesting to know, the Pilot Badge marked CEJ in the box is made from nickel-silver. The Pilot badge marked C.E.Juncker is made from Tombak. Subtle changes in manufacturing that followed with a different hallmark also.

Here is the latest addition. It is the C.E.Juncker marked Pilot/Observer. Very nice fire gilting.

Here is the complete set of Pilot/Observer and Pilot Badges made by Juncker, in the early thin wreath style.

Top row badges are marked CEJ, C.E.Juncker, and Aluminum C.E.Juncker (left to right)
Bottom row badges are marked CEJ, and C.E.Juncker.

My esteemed colleagues, thanks for the kind words. As you all have the same addiction as I do, you can understand that I am broke most of the time. When I have the $$$, I spend it on these little trinkets. Boy, do I love 'em!

Very nice collection--IMO the early Juncker pieces are among the most delicate, most jewelry-like of the flight badges.

Very nice grouping Mark. I can only tick 3 of the 5, but I do have the screwback Pilots as a plus!

                        Regards,

                          Neil,

Don't tempt me with another badge. I know it's not for sale, but don't wave the carrot!
