Hi collectors,

Jesper has a nice badge for sale on the e-stand. I asked him if I could post here to be polite he said no problem. I do not have a problem with the badges authenticity. It is very nice.

I was wondering about the loss of finish on the wreath. It can be seen clearly where the eagles wings come into contact with the wreath.

This discolouring is that the original metal of the badge coming through?

The reason I ask is because of all the silver dippies as of late.

I had a look at it now. There's no loss of finish in those areas, it looks like dirt on top of the finish.
I bought the badge from a very well respected forum member and paid slightly more than what I'm asking, so if there are any problems with it, I'd sure like to hear some second opinions too.

Hi guys,

This is a fine original J3 Juncker Pilot badge and has not been refinished in my opinion. However, I feel that the wreath has been cleaned of most of its original, yellowish patina. You can still see what the original patina on the wreath, under the wings where it was hard to clean, and also near the bottom of the wreath, where it was hard to clean because the swastika was in the way. So the rest of the wreath has been cleaned to a new, bright white (probably with Tarn-X in my opinion). Same with the reverse of the wreath, its been cleaned of all its patina, but you can still see a tiny bit around the hinge.

If it has been cleaned as you describe, I better get in touch with the seller, because he did not mention that in his sales text, and it would affect the value quite a lot I imagine.
