2 badges from same pilot

Gents, I obtained these two badges from a vet along with several other items. The vet was a experienced and wounded infantryman. He kept a really good diary with many dates, places and facts. He told me he was part of a guard unit taking care of POWs at a former Luft base at Plaunen(?), near Munich. A POW gave him these medals because he treated them kindly and gave them extra food. I offer them for comment and opinions. Thanks Rich

I think its just the flash light. Its a pilot badge.

Hi Rich,

Nice score and nice to know a little history about these.

I think both are original, and the fighter looks heavily patinated. Like Wood says, this might be a nightfighter based on the remnants of black finish on the wreath, but the pics are too dark to tell for sure if it is indeed paint or just thick patina. A well-lit closeup or two of the center wreath might tell us more.
