gwl pilots badge

hi everyone i have a cased gwl pilots badge the eagle appears to be gilt in colour and a silver wreath.

Gold eagle on silver wreath, it should be a black eagle on a gold wreath.

Hello,

Can you post some pictures? A Pilot Badge should have a blackened eagle on a silver wreath and a Combined Pilot Observer Badge should have a silver eagle on a gold wreath. A gold eagle on a silver wreath would not be correct. Maybe you have a badge with a refinished eagle?

Because sometimes people do silly things to badges and medals for any number of equally silly motivations. We do need to see some pictures of your badge, though, if you expect some definite answers. If your badge is real, it should not have a gold eagle. Therefore, the possibility exists that an ignorant owner decided to "pimp" up the badge by painting the eagle gold because they think it looks more flashy that way.

GWL eagles can often have a caramel colour, could this be the "gilt" affect referred to?
