    Hello,

    IMO this is not an original GWL Observer.

    The finish of the eagle is wrong, also the setup of hinge and catch...I also dislike the rivets.

      Hi Rich,

      I agree with Martin, this looks to be a postwar Souval fake. Why it uses a GWL eagle I am not sure, but there are other fakes that also use the same GWL design. The detail of the eagle looks OK, so its possible that these are leftover, wartime eagles that were stuck on some Souval wreaths to sell postwar.
