        Tim,

Bühlingen's badge looks like the thick Deumer to me..

Based on the gaps in the right wing's feathers..!?

Yeah, I'd say J2 or Deumer. Might even have a cut-out between the legs?
Not nearly as nice as your shot Jos. This was taken out of a book.

This thread just shows how far we as collectors have come. A personal computer, a scanner, and you are in business - more details than you ever would have noticed before!

                  Right !
But now we've to learn to work with the result of that..
This means merging knowledge with the results.
                  Quite interesting IMO..

Exactly. I've been working on my 230 original RK Luftwaffe winners studying their RK's and their biographies. It brings the badges to life. Jos, curious what you think. These are just thumbnails but it helps me quickly ID people.

                      Jos,

                      Another nice shot!
I think that's an early Assmann, aluminum, bent inward (maybe from leaning against the bar ~ was Hans a big drinker?) with a repaired clasp, the type of repair that goes all the way through the wreath.

Compare to this tombak badge, use a little imagination on the repair, and take into account that there may be some distortion in the original photo.

                      ??

This one looks like an early thin Juncker, either P/O, or with a silver eagle.

                          Hi,

Is it my eyes, is it the image, or is the EK1 in the last photo smaller than the wound badge? Is that a prinzen EK1? Even Imperial EK1s are about the same size as a wound badge.

                          Regards
                          Mike K

                                Jack,

What makes you think this badge is the version with brilliants ?

                                Jos.
