Here is one right out of the woodwork. It is a typical GB zinc flak badge, but has a variant catch. There are no signs of any repair or alteration to the catch.

Looks like a very nice G.B with as you said a variant catch, never seen another one like it.

Lovely Brehmer
This type of catch is found on Brehmer's GABs quite a bit. Also notice the distinct line at the top of the catch, typical of Brehmer catches and a perfect match to yours.
