Thank you very much Andy and Jos. Jos, the badge is in my SD Box at my bank. I keep my badges there, not for security, but because the bank gives me a free box and I've nothing else to put in it. When I have more time I'll get it out and shoot details for you both.

I want to shoot a close up of the Imme para badge markings as well. Like I said, I've seen a Deumer para like this exact style. My Imme badge has been polished off on the back of the eagle where the marker mark is stamped and the Imme mark added. This was done before the gilt was applied. I believe this badge was marked Deumer and the Imme firm ground off the Deumer mark, stamped their Imme mark, and finished the badge. Would a faker go to this trouble? I think not. Jos, if you still have the photo of the reverse of my Imme see if you can see what I describe. I probably need to photograph it better though, I will do so when work permitts.

    Thanks again to you both,
    John

I've only ever seen 4 Deumer pilot's badges that I
consider "textbook". Here is a shot of mine.
I think Lorenzo and Andy Hedges also have
      "textbook" examples.

        Hi Jos,
I have an Observers Badge, like the one you had, with the Assmann eagle marked C.E.Juncker Berlin SW68. I always had it put to the side not knowing what to believe. The wreath is silver plate and measures the correct size - 53mm H x 42mm W . Also the eagle is hand finished and the correct size - 53mm wingspan x 42mm height with the swastika. I know some don't approve of the "68" in the Juncker address, but ? It does not seem to be cast.

            Hi,
This is another example of the badge I've had in hands.
Assmann eagle on a fantasy wreath.
It's not Assmann cause the back shows the wrong rivets.
It's not Juncker cause they didn't have this pattern eagle and the wreath isn't Juncker either.
I've never seen a combination of Assmann and Juncker.
These are very well cast badges with a very tough plating on the wreath.
It looks like a early heavy badge and has the late Junckermark.
If you look very good at the side(the thin part) of the eagle, you sometimes can find parts of a thin "line" 'cause the mold was in 2 parts.
Also look between the arms of the swas, you sometimes can find the lines there as well, also between the wingfeathers.
Sometimes the hinge and catch are cast as one piece with the wreath and the catch also shows a mold "line" on the inside.
IMO these badges are fake .

            Jos.

There are a number of characteristics that I look for in a good Deumer badge, but I think I'd rather discuss this in the Member's Only Forum. Shall I meet you guys there?
