    My First Ehrenpokal

    Hi Guys

I have several Ehrenpokal award documents but this is the first time I managed to get the goblet too. We sometimes criticise the dealers for splitting up groups but in this case the Weitze team reunited the goblet with the award documents.

I have no doubts about this one but I'm sure you will tell me if there are any issues.... It certainly is a beautiful thing.

Too bad in was cleaned by someone but still it's a wonderful piece! I'm still looking for a silver one with an award doc...

Fantastic set, you are fortunate to have such a set in your collection. Be sure to send us a pic of the set on display in your war room.

                Thanks,
                Mike

                  Great set Tim!
Touch it every day after dinner, you will see patina comes back soon...

                  best regards,

                    Thanks for the comments guys.

I know it is a personal thing but I think the oxidised black goblets look rather sad. Someone cleaned this in the past and it is now beginning to re-oxidise and this highlights the detail without looking too shiny.

I have four flugbuch and piles of documents to go with this goblet so plenty of research to keep me out of mischief.

                      Terrific set Tim! Congratulations!
I know these is maybe heresy for some, but a college friend who works with metals says that over time the dark silver oxidation can eat away at the metal, although he says it would take a very long time to do so. But I have no clue?
Nonetheless a terrific group (& a recon pilot as well!!!)
Thanks for showing it to us!

Nice one! - silver, document, photo, RK holder
Hopefully you will come across other items to build a group

                            Question

Very nice item and a great collection, congrats on your find. I am not familiar with the Eherenpokal award and I am interested to know the if it was indeed an award and what was the criteria for receiving it. Also was it only awarded to the Luftwaffe pilots? Are there similar awards for the Heer or Kreigmarine?
