    Question about Luftwaffen honour goblet

I have a general question about Luftwaffen honour goblets.

I can buy a 835 goblet in good condition plus the award document. The soldier was a Kampfflieger and received this piece in 1941. The died in the war and never received the german cross or any higher awards. What do you think is a fair price for such a set, or a price range?

    many thanks for your help!

Whatever you want to spend, really, but ballpark in the thousands, maybe 5-6.

Imo 5-7 KEuro depends on the condition. There are a lot of alpaka made goblets for sale but the silver one is much more rare.

          Hello,

For a not very high decorated "Kampflieger" I would
say 4500.- to 5000 Euros depends on how nice this
          set looks like.

          regards

          Otto

By the way... the Konvolut conatains more than only the goblet with document. It comes with more documents.

            - Document EK 2

            - Document EK 1

            - Document Frontflugspange in silber für Kampfflieger (signed in Derna / Afrika)

            - Document Frontflugspange in gold für Kampfflieger

            - Document Ärmelband Afrika ( document with palm tree )

            - Document for bronze italian al valore militare medal

            - Letter to his wife that he is awarded with Krimschild and Afrikacufftitle.

I think this all makes the the honour goblet a little more interesting and complete. The Awards are not part of the lot, but the most importand thing the goblet matching with the document is still there and togehter.

Why is it only the pokal and the pokal doc and not the others? Is the group being split up??
Interested in hand-stitched EM/NCO LW insignia and cuff-titles
              Decorations of Germany

Not the others?.... I wrote that all other docs are there ( without krimshield doc ). Only the decorations ( EKs , Frontflugspange etc ) are missing.

What happend to this group in the years after the soldier died, I really dont know.

As noted eariler, the .835 silver goblets are harder to find and command a premium over the Alpaka ones awarded to a recipient at the same level of career achievement. The document is a big plus and the other documents bear witness to a storied Dienstzeit, even if the awardee didn't receive the DKiG or the RK.

If you are indeed getting all the documents listed and the pokal, I think a price in the 6k - 7k Euro/$8k - $9k USD range for the grouping would be appropriate.

If you do the deal, you will quickly come to regard the goblet as one of the highlights of your collection...good luck
