    Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe

    Hello everyone!

Some time ago I bought from a collector that Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe. And 'accompanied by a certificate of Detlev Niemann, who shall certify the originality.

Seeing other specimens I have noticed huge differences in quality of production.

From what I understand the aesthetics a bit 'should be poor due to late production of the object.

In any case: I'd like to hear some opinion ... Thanks to anyone who wishes to intervene!

In the photo below you can see traces of gilding under the layer of color ...

I leave to you the word, thanks!

According to Sacha Weber's reference, this is a typical late-war production by Arno Wallpach.

One of the few original Wallpach´s out there, very nice!

Thanks guys! Sorry for the ignorance (I collect mostly Fascist and Italian Social Republic) ... but because the badge is painted on the gold?
The gold in the paint means that it was a badge of class gold?

Don't know why there's gold paint on it. Imo it only.should be gray.

Looks like there was a thin tombak layer applied before the piece was silvered. This was usually done to make the silvering process a little easier. Benefit for the collector: the quality of the silvering is a lot better, even after 70 years.

There are no gold grades known of this award.

            Regards,

            Daniel

One of the few? They are plentiful IMO. One of the more common in fact!

Yes indeed, if you count all the ugly fakes out there that were usually considered to be original...
