    Fll pilot badge

    Hello collectors,

I have this Pilot badge in my collection and prior to a sale I would like your opinion about it.
For me this is a nice original FLL pilot.
The obverse looks really great and I was wondering if it might be a tombak one although I never heard that FLL made tombak badges.

Please also have a look to hinge / catch.

Thanks for your opinions and help!
    kind regards
    Martin

        Hallo Martin,

Sure, FLL made tombak badges. Their first pattern FLL Paras are made from nickel silver and tombak, same with their early Pilot and PO badges.

Here is a good thread with some other tombak FLL pilot badges, which includes one I have in my collection:

Yours is a very nice original, no problems at all for me. Textbook FLL

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

thanks Tom and Sebastien for your comment.

Very good threat, Tom, I missed that one.

Also I must have been drunk..of course FLL made tombak badges, I had a very nice Pilot /Obvserver made of tombak, but the reverse of this FLL pilot made me doubting it is a tombak one.

              Hi Martin

A very nice tombak example. Mine is here but I think yours might be earlier and is better finished.

              Best wishes

                      Hi Guys,

Some very nice later Nickel-Silver FLL Pilot badges. Most likely from 1940-1942.

IMO, these are much to underestimated.

                      Thanks for showing.
