    Unknown Flak Badge

    Hi all,

Wanted to get an opinion on this badge before it moving to Estand. I have tried to identify it through Marc's book but without 100% success. I get close but maybe I am missing something. Thoughts my learned colleagues?

That's a nice one there. I agree it is nickel silver and not tombak.

                  Hi

I have a quick questions regarding the pin assembly of this badge.

The pin ball rotates about 20 degrees left and right - almost like it's a screw. The movement is relativelt fluid and it appears to have been made this way.

Can anyone indicate whether pin assemblies ere made this way on some awards??

                  Thanks, WilloW

                    Hi Iain,
the pin ball (hinge) on this type of flaks is NOT suppose to move at all, it's been crimped in place when manifactured!

                        Hello,

The (ball) hinge setup is fix and it's not suppose to move at all. I have an identical NS Ball hinge flak and you can't move it. Mabye if you move it to much you might brake the ball hinge, I suggest not to move it. I would like to hear more about that issue...

Thanks Lubo & Dama for clarifing the issue

As the badge is NOT being worn, a loose pin doesn't really detract. You wouldn't know it was loose unless you started playing with it.

                          Thanks, WilloW

I've seen a few that rotate within the crimp. It's just wore out, that's all. Heck, it's older than I am....

                            Regards,
                            Frank
