I was wondering whether this was a good one? Thanks, John

    Hello John,

for me this Observer looks like an Assmann, but has a " wrong" maker mark.

So I think this is not a good one...

    Kind regards

    Martin

Sorry John, Martin is right. It's a pretty well made repro.

I am not very knowledgeable about Observer badges, but when I saw those two straight indentations above the hinge, it gave me pause. I once bought a supposedly good gold wound badge that had a line similar to those two above the hinge. It was a reproduction also. Thanks for the quick replies.

          Hi John,

I agree with Tim and Martin, a well made fake unfortunately.

Regarding those marks above the hinge, those are often found on perfectly original LW badges. They were made with the central barrel of the tube was cut away to make the hinge, often seen on original Juncker & Assmann badges, among others.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Sorry to break the news John, but it's a very well made repro.
