    Hello, the hinge pin in most cases is made of a softer metal, I would say brass or what the germans call "messing", and it is NEVER gold finished (as the badge should be assembled after the finish is already applied), it should retain its natural brass color.

      I agree with Mike on the rivet issue. I never thought a typical Assman rivet could end up looking like the rivet pictured in post #3 by just "tightening" and I am sure these rivets have been replaced.

        my opinion its that golden finish its ok , but I still study about the rivers behind hmm.. Badge looks fantastic on front!
