Thats a nice original early clasp with flatwire catch- this one of the only makers that you find flatwire on tomback clasps

              Hi Jens,

I can only agree, a nice original RSS clasp. Like Patrick says, its much more common to find these with round wire catches, so yours is a rare catch with the flatwire catch, congrats

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I'm not sure about the flatwire catch being rare. I own one with flatwire and have another on the way. I would like to find one with round wire.
Here's the one I have now.

                    Very nice original Frank

Regarding the flatwire catch, I think it is a good bit rarer than the round wire. In my files I have a ratio of about 4 to 1 round wire to flat wire. And it wasn't too long ago that some guys doubted the originality of these flat wire RSS clasps, simply because they hadn't run across them before.
