    I know what you mean. Some things are called fake simply because they do not match what someone says they have to be, even though to make them would have yielded no profit to anyone.
    I would like to see the finest casting of a flight badge (whether "micro" or otherwise) which anyone has and can show. Let's see how good they REALLY are.

      This thread is just what it`s all about. Staying a bit ahead.

      With the prices on some badgeds now days, I fear it`s just a matter of time before super quality die-struck fakes turns up (if not allready here).

      I believe if the profit is good enough, good "enough" fakes will eventually turn up also. But that`s just me and my paranoia.

        And that's what I want to see! Have we been hit yet with a quality of fake (whether micro-cast or otherwise) that is almost impossible to tell without serious tools, or are we overly paranoid? I know that on some small things (like the Oakleaves to the RK) it has been said that micro-casting has been used in recent years. Have larger pieces been done yet on a scale we should worry about? Or is that "beyond the capabilities" of most fakers?
