opinion on assmann para badge

Hello all- in process of purchasing this badge. Looks correct in every aspect, except pin configuration. Eagle seems right, and looking at how it's attached to the wreath seems typical for Assmann (flat wide rivets). Would value any and all opinions

I'm still learning these, but I think this is a fake, as I haven't seen that reverse hardware (and there are a few things on the obverse that are throwing me off).

But let's wait to get other seasoned opinions

I don't like it at all. The pictures are poor, but I can see the reverse hardware is wrong.

Hi guys,

I think this is an original badge, but just with a replaced hinge and pin. Better closeups are needed to be sure, but I think its fine except for the repaired hardware. The catch may also be replaced, hard to tell from these pics.

I agree with Tom that this is a worn original zinc badge with replaced pin and hinge.To me the catch looks OK.
Personally I would pass on this one...

These Assmann zink Paras are not that hard to find if you're looking for one. I would pass on this particular one too due to its 'frankenstein' status. Wait for one that's 100% correct IMO.

I follow the other ones: these zinker Assmann badges aren't rare and if this one isn't part of an "unquestionable grouping" rather buying one in top condition.

I see what looks like the result of heat applied (viewing the reverse) to affix the replacement hinge/pin setup. Just right of it is what looked to be casting bubbles. Guess I was wrong.
Still, not for my collection. There are many reighteous paras in zinc to be had for not too much money. Be patient and something better will come along.
