    Reconnaissance Clasp

I would like to sell it and want to find out a fair price for it. It is unmarked. The finish appears to be gold(It looks like tarnished brass)with a silver bird in the center. The photos show the actual color more accurately then the scans.
    Thanks<center>

Milling the hinge is a Deumer thing.
Seems like this hinge is two-point soldered? We always see full solder on Deumers other buntmetall LW badges.

Assmann also occasional mill the hinge are, but not as an standard operational procedure like Deumer. Assmann only do it when the hinge barrel does not have free rotation.

Looks like a very nice clasp

              Hi guys,

              Agree, a bronze clasp.

My first thought is Deumer too based on the milled hinge, but just goes to show what a mystery these unmarked flight clasps are! Like Karsten says, the fact that the hinge has 2 small points of solder rather than a long single solder job points away from Deumer.

Not much evidence at all pointing to a specific maker and when one aspect points to a certain maker, another aspect of the same clasp points AWAY from that same maker! Very frustrating to say the least, but hopefully in time we can start to unravel the mysteries.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                    Value?

Can anyone give me a fair price on this. I have seen them priced between 400 and 700 US. Thanks

I think you just answered your own question.
The collector-to-collector price and the super high pie in the sky dealer price.
