              Based on the new photos, I don't believe there's any chance that that's the original finish on the wreath. When it was refinished is anyone's guess.

                  I don't think that a new "gold" colour was aplyed over the original PO colour. That would be silly to do, and even there would be some traces of old colour as this one is worn out on some places. So what is the deal now here.

                  Is this a PO or a pilot badge?

                  What do you say on Mr. Heukemes comment;
                  ""3) Also, there seems to be absolutely no silver finish under the golden finish of the wreath. This does not lead me to believe that it was a pilot badge at some point in time."""
                  This is the only fact that would confirm it is a PO. But is it true?

                    And again I ask this:

                    I guess the most common answer would be "As for a repaired pilot CEJ",...so how much is that?

                      In my opinion an upgraded pilot badge.

                        For the record, badge was sold by me to threadstarter for 950 EUR.
                        Cheers, Frank

                            So what now, who is right, Frank or everybody else.

                            I dont care, who was the owner, I car only about the badge, and If it was sold to me as PO, then I expect the PO, not a possibilits of remade pilot.

                            I wrote to MR. Heukemes what would he like to do about the situation,...to me, it is the sam as a fake was sold to me as original,...same is here,...if it is a pilot badge, than i dont want it.

                            I hope that some of you will write some clear facts what can be done to determinate what it is. I will even try with nail polish to check the colour and I let you know.

                                OK guys, here is the latest fact. I tryed with nail polish remover on the back of the badge, near the rivets, and the paint went off, and under it it is plain tombak, no original gold paint. So this is 100% confirmed pilot badge CEJ, repainted to PO. I will post some pictures, but i have to charge the bateries.

                                Next step is,...returning the badge to Mr. Heukemes. Let us see his response, in last 3 days he didnt answer to my emails.
