Bsw marked pilot badge

I have recently started to get back into collecting third reich era items, mostly badges and medals. I started doing some research ( also bought a few of the books recommended on the main page). Sadly I am still abit new at spotting fakes (good ones, I am confident that I can spot the sloppy made ones) and wanted to get a few opinions on a certain item that I found from a reptable dealer in my area. This would pretty much be the start of my badges collection and it would be a good start. Thanks for your time and any help you can offer

Hello Rob,
You are off to a good start indeed! Looks like the one from Bill Shea if my memory serves correct. You have an original Bruder Schneider Wien (BSW) Pilots Badge in zinc. The bubbling effect under the actual finish is actually something one likes to see on these zinkers by BSW. Keep going like this and you'll have an impressive collection in no time!

From what I do know (which is not a whole lot, but I am getting there) this is an example of a late war badge.

Planning on doing some more research, but am glad this site was referred to me. Happened when I bought a questionable observer badge ( was able to return it for a refund, the seller was very understanding) and have been perusing it ever since.
