Take a look at this comparizing. Yours is on the top and a normal zinc ROAG underneath.

It would make perfect sense that yours is a cut-off bolts and transitional until the the new airgunner badge arrived somewhere in the 2nd half of 1942, which was a very different design (like Steve´s in post #1).

I would have loved to own yours. Let me know next time you get a moment

Hi Karsten, I have to agree with you. I am pretty sure this was a factory conversion as I do not remember any loss of finish where the claws held the bolts. If the current owner is reading hopefully he can clarify. Anyway, I wish I still had it!
