    Cloth Flak Badge ??

This cloth Luftwaffe Flak badge was up for auction today & sold for $40.00. Is it authentic? As a newby collector I haven't seen one before and it doesn't look quite right to me.
    Thanks,
    Greg

It doesn't resemble any examples in Marc's book.

It doesnt match other types of bullion badges I´ve seen. I think it´s a fake cause it sure looks like one.

Hi Greg, First let me say I am no expert (far from in fact) in cloth and I find the whole space very difficult and fraught personally...How does one know if an item is original or not...I am never sure (but again others have much more knowledge and experience than I).

This one doesn't look like anything I've seen either so I'd be inclined to agree with the other guys. However, a very interesting thread came around recently that highlights the difficulty with cloth badges, especially those that may have been made at the front (see link below)

              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=386018

In light of this, my response might be, who really knows? But, it would be a very risky proposition to expect people to believe that it was "the genuine article" without provenance IMHO and as per the thread above indicates. All in all a Good question bud! Cheers, S
              Cheers, Steve

Well I don´t think they did bullion badges at the front Especially not luftwaffe badges

Edit: In this thread you´ll find a simular fake http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ighlight=cloth

Thanks guys, as I thought. The fake in the above thread looks just like the bad one at that auction!
