    B & NL Observer badge ?

    Hello Gentlmen,

Recently viewing a collection of LW pieces, I noticed a B&NL Observer badge.
Sorry no pics , didn't have the camera and future pics are not an option. Now, B&NL as far as I understood did not make Observer badges, why I do not know as it does not make sense to me that wouldn't.

The Badge I examined possesed all the point that I would look for in a period made piece, especially the finish.

Has anyone have a pic ??

    Thank you in advance,
    JD

    Dear Joe,

Here are pics of three (all different!) bogus, but well made B&NL Observers. I have to date not seen one that was believable and am with the general opinion that B&NL did not make Observers.

                Thanks Frank,

I am also under same opinion that these did not exist, BUT, they do look convincing. The first one you posted looks very well made.

Why would B&NL not make them but make all the other LW pieces

                Best,
                JD

                  Dear Joe,

I guess for the same reason why e.g. Deutschbein or Osang didn´t make them all. There is no "system" to that.

I knew you would pick up on the first badge!

                  Cheers, Frank

                        Hi Frank,
The first one looks REALLY good to me. How is it determined that these are fakes in the first place? I understand that if you already know that maker doesn't make that badge then you know it's a fake, but how is it determined in the first place with a real looking badge like that?

                              Hi Brian,
I most definitly do trust our German rocker, I just want to know as much as he does someday, so I am compelled to sound like a 2 year old and ask...why?
