Being a Political collector I need your help with this badge. Does it look ok? Thanks, Erich

Pilot Observer Badge

Hi Erich,
The edges and details looks really soft, my thought is that it is a casting of an original J2 Juncker badge and then marked with JMME. While this combination is known on originals, this badge doesn't look to be made by either maker. Reverse hardware looks to be like JMME, but not quite correct. The finish is also definately not correct for a Pilot Observer, but it even seems to be wrong for just a regular pilot badge.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

ErichS;I agree with Larry Lipps that is not a P/O badge.Even if it was real a P/O badge has a guilted wreath! The badge as stated by other members is a fake! I would suggest that if you can pickup one of the books on luft badges try to get Ailsby's book "COMBAT MEDALS of the THIRD REICH".Their are many photos of many badges not just Luft. in color.Might help you in the future.Carl

Again, thanks for all your opinions. This badge was part of a large collection that I was considering. My interest is only Political pieces and I would have sold the Military pieces to recoup some of my investment. This badge and a few others are fake and I have since passed on the purchase. Best, Erich
