JD, all I can find out about 'I. Deutschbein GmbH, Euskirchen' (or translated, I German Leg ) is that they were manufacturers of metal insignia/badges, had the RZM code M1/122...
    Warmest Regards ... John

Another Deutschbein from a German collection. These are the only two pictures available. The badge has the same quality and features as Francois´ two badges and is also believed to be original.

            Francois & Frank,

Excellent! Good work. While I think that we pretty much agree that the Euskirchen strike is not exactly a BSW strike, there are enuf similarities for me to think that there might have been some collaberation between the two companies, somehow.

It's quite interesting what crawls out of the woodwork, just when we think that we have 'it all figured out'!

              Hi Mark,

I think your right, now with all these old collections that have been tucked away for years finally surfacing. I think that their is more to come, pretty exciting.

                Truly an interesting thread.
I´m half torn between being happy that there is another badge to add to the P/O collection, and annoyed that it´s going to be a really hard one to find (still have´nt got the bloody Deumer).

The badge shown by Frank is really nice, quality detail, but Frank, do you think that the front of the eagle has been repainted, or is it just the light that makes it look so shiney?
I also wanted to do a side by side comparison with my Brüder Schneider Wien badge but can´t seem to be able to copy your pics Frank!

I name this example "Old google eye" ... Well, I for one will be doing a lot of comparisons this evening..
Frank, many thanks for getting hold of, and posting, this most excellent badge..
Have you any more information regarding the company, from the badges owner??
                  Warmest Regards ... John

I wonder if the artisan who created the die for this company also created the die for BSW?

The similarities are astounding, just like the similarities between the GWL and the unmarked 'block-hinge' pilot badges.

                    Food for thought

Even stronger than the 'GWL' Scenario, Rich... The badge is 100% 'BSW'.. In fact there is an early, Fully marker marked BSW that is the twin to Frank's piece in the forums database.... http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...4&page=3&pp=15 pic # 41...

I am also of John´s opinion, BSW for me as well.
I do not have any further information about the badge I showed.

All information now leads me to asking some questions:

                          <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Firstly, I need clarification to do with the German language.. Am I correct in assuming that the German ‘I & J’ are interchangeable given the right set of circumstances, such as the situation with ‘JMME & IMME’ ? The reason I ask is that there is a company, listed in the ‘RZM’ company lists by the name of ‘ I . Deutschbein, Euskirchen’ RZM number M1/122 but no ‘J. Deutschbein’… as stamped on the reverse of these badges… Until I have an answer to this question it would be pointless to continue with the rest of the questions, so I look forward to hearing from one of our German pals….FRANK..
                          Warmest Regards ... John

Yes, John, I and J is interchangeable in this case and has the same meaning = I.

                            Cheers, Frank

Another new pilot. Remember the IMME with the hole between the legs and Walter B coming to the table with one with provenance? I think we have to accept there are going to be pilots of scant quantity. Great badge! I tend to think like Rich that the same artisan created the die for both companies and NOT a BSW.
